What does Diamond Microdermabrasion achieve?
Abraiding action:
- Smooths your complexion by abraiding the dead skin cells from the top layer of your skin;
- Softens the appearance of fine lines, stretch marks, and scars;
- Softens the appearance of hyperpigmentation and freckles;
- Perfectly prepares the skin for IPL Photo Rejuvenation to help eliminate pigmentation problems;

How much does Diamond Microdermabrasion hurt?
It doesn't hurt at all. In fact, it's really relaxing. You'll feel a gentle massaging rhythm on the area, and then I'll apply a light moisturiser to protect your newly softened skin.
How do Diamond Microdermabrasion and Crystal Microdermabrasion differ?
On Diamond Microdermabrasion units, the tips of the handpiece that touches the skin in imprinted with flecks of industrial diamond. This mildly rough but strong surface gently abraids the dead outer layer of skin. In contrast, Crystal Microdermabrasion units spray tiny shards of silica onto the skin, essentially sand blasting the surface.
I've heard too many horror stories from clients about crystal treatments. It leaves debris and runs the risk of causing bad inflammation or infection. It is also quite painful by comparison, so I don't offer this service.
Is Diamond Microdermabrasion beneficial for men as well as women?
Yes, definitely. Men's skin is usually drier and tends to fall prey to the elements more than women's skin. Men will notice a remarkable result following even one single treatment.
Can you perform microdermabrasion on dark skin?
Unfortunately no. The limit is olive, east Asian, and some Indian skin types. Any darker and there can be complications with pigment. There is no point trying to soften your skin if it turns white, and regrettably, that is the outcome too often at salons that do not have this policy in place.
Will I see a result straight away from Diamond Microdermabrasion?
Yes. You will leave with skin feeling softer and appearing more radiant.
How many Diamond Microdermabrasion treatments will I need?
A single treatment is immediately beneficial for removing dead skin cells on the surface and giving the underlying skin a fresh lease of life. Monthly treatments will help keep your skin looking fresh, and will improve its texture each time.
Do you recommend any particular brands of moisturiser or after care product?
One thing I really hate about the beauty industry is how women in particular fall prey to hard selling at beauty salons when they are at their most vulnerable. Every woman I know has a cupboard full of skin care product they never use.
For that reason, the only facial skin range I stock is Arbre. It's Australian made and owned, a LOT cheaper than the fancy salon brands, and it does what is says on the bottle.

Is it beneficial to combine Diamond Microdermabrasion with other treatments?

Can any area of the body be treated with Diamond Microdermabrasion?
Yes, as long as the area is free of long hair to avoid tangles. The areas that I've priced above are simply the most common. I can treat all body areas.
